What's Next for the Region's Benefit Corporations and LLCs?
March 5th, 6:30-8:30PM

Join socially-responsible business owners and advisors on March 5th to reflect on Benefit Corporation and Benefit LLC activity to date, hear the findings from the first survey and report on Benefit Corporation and LLC activity in Maryland in the two years since legislation went into effect.

[Click here for the report summary and a post by ChangeMatters on why the team developed it.]

A short presentation of the report's findings will be followed by a discussion by entrepreneurs, advisors, and impact investors who will react to the analysis, bring their own experiences and questions about the Benefit Corporation and LLC options, and offer ideas about implementation for the law recently passed in DC.

This was the first study of the first Benefit Corporations and Benefit LLCs in the country, in the first state to pass the laws, and was released by the first Benefit LLC, ChangeMatters. Research was conducted during the 2012 Fall semester by an MBA team from the Robert H. Smith School of Business's Center for Social Value Creation at University of Maryland.
